One of the many difficulties encountered in learning, teaching, and using the German language is the meaning and usage characteristics of prefixes and suffixes. The formation of derivative words and differentiation of meaning using prefixes and suffixes is common in the language, and it is estimated that almost half of them are derived from foreign languages, and this number is increasing (Schreiber, H. 2006). Therefore, since it is difficult to calculate the exact number of suffixes, it is more appropriate to clarify the most commonly used derivative affixes in the German language. In this study, we have taken the suffix -lich as an example and analyzed how affixes are formed with this suffix, the meaning and usage characteristics they produce, and how they are translated into Mongolian by citing translation texts.
