Developing Functional Literacy in Children with Special Educational Needs through Project-Based Learning in Educational Activities

The article examines the experimental work of a project on the development of functional literacy in preschool children with disabilities. This project is connected with the fact that modern education poses non-standard tasks for education specialists, the goal of which is to place Russia among the top ten countries in the world in terms of the quality of general education. For a person in such a society to be competitive, to be able to generate new ideas, to have creative thinking, to be able to think creatively. Therefore, from a social demand perspective, modern society requires a creative, functionally literate individual capable of adapting to rapidly changing conditions and quickly finding solutions to non-standard problems. This unique project is being tested for the first time in a preschool educational institution with children with disabilities in senior and preparatory age groups. The authors describe the project-based technologies they use, focusing on problematic issues and prospects.
